The Magic Door – A Moral Story

The Magic Door – A Moral Story

A long time ago, when simplicity, silence and love ruled the world. In a remote valley, there was a small beautiful village called Noorgarh. In this village, there were the shadows of mountains, a flowing river and rolling fields. The people here were simple, honest and hospitable. But the most unique thing about this village was that there was a small closed door here that had been closed for centuries, and no one knew what was behind it.

Many stories were famous among children about this door. Some said that this door led to a treasure, some said that a witch was imprisoned there, and some said that the door was beyond time. But no one knew the truth.

In the village, there lived an eleven-year-old girl named Meher. Meher was a very intelligent, courageous and truthful girl. She always had a passion for asking questions and a passion for finding answers.  Mehr's grandmother often read her old magic books, which mentioned:

"When the heart is true, the intention is pure, and the tongue is free from lies, only then does the door of magic open."

Mehr had a question in her heart for years: "If this is true, then I must open that door."

One night, Mehr had a dream. In the dream, a luminous woman said to her:

"Wake up, Mehr, the time has come. The door of magic is waiting for you. But remember, this door opens not with strength, but with the heart."

In the morning, Mehr told her dream to her grandmother. Grandma hugged her and said: "Daughter, this dream has come not only to you, but to the truth of your heart. If you have made up your mind, then go, but there will be three trials on the way. Each trial will test the fear, lies, and greed within you. If you are successful, the door will open itself."

Mehr prepared a small bag containing water, bread, a handkerchief with Grandma's prayers, and an old magic book, and set out to uncover the secret.

The first test was in a deserted field. In the middle of the field was a mirror. It was written:

"Tell your biggest lie, or you won't be able to move forward."

Mehr thought for a while, then said softly, "I told my friend that I was happy with her, but inside I was jealous that she was everyone's favorite."

The mirror began to shine and a path opened up. Mehr breathed a sigh of relief, because telling the truth is not always easy.

The second test was in a dark cave. Inside the cave, two things were placed on a table — one a shining gold brick, and the other a dilapidated book. A voice came:

"You can choose only one thing. The brick will give you strength, the book of knowledge."

Mehr picked up the book and said, "Power is temporary, knowledge is forever."

The cave was filled with light, and the next path became clear.

The third test was a river, which was flowing fast. On the bank was written:

"Only he who has the spirit of sacrifice can cross."

At that moment, a deer called out, which was injured and could not cross the river. Mehr immediately opened his bag, tied his blanket to its wound, gave it water, and with his own hand led the deer across the river. She herself got wet, her clothes were covered with mud, but there was satisfaction on her face.

After crossing the river, suddenly clouds thundered in the sky, and a door appeared on the ground - that magic door!

Mehr took the handkerchief given by Nani Amma in her hand, prayed in her heart, and approached the door. As soon as she put her hand, the door automatically opened. The scene inside was more beautiful than dreams. It was a garden full of lights, where trees spoke, birds talked about knowledge, and the scent of love was in the air.

In the middle was a golden throne on which sat the same luminous woman who had appeared in the dream.

"Mehr, you have succeeded. You have chosen truth over lies, knowledge over greed, and sacrifice over selfishness. This is the real magic."

Then he gave a small lamp to Mehr and said:

"This lamp is the mirror of your heart. Whenever you spread truth, knowledge, and love, this lamp will light up."

Mehr thanked him, held the lamp to his chest, and set off back to the village.

When she returned to the village, everyone was amazed. There was light on her face, effectiveness in her words, and peace in her eyes. Mehr told everyone the story of the door, but did not mention the treasure, because she already knew:

"The real treasure is the knowledge and light that makes a person better, not wealth and riches."

From then on, the children of Nurgarh started learning lessons instead of listening to stories.  Mehr opened a small madrasa in the village where she taught children not magic, but truth, knowledge, love and sacrifice.

And that magic door? It had always been open in Mehr’s heart…

🌷 Moral lesson:

The real magic is not behind any magic door, but is hidden in the truth, sacrifice, knowledge and love within us. A person who keeps his heart pure and his intentions right can open any door — be it of this world or of destiny.
